I have that CD-ROM.  I did (or tried) a reinstall, this time trying to
do the intranet version.  It failed when it got to the HTTP server
setup.  The error display said the file was open (what file?) which
could mean it was active.  The HTTP server is not active on our system.

The following is what was in the log:

"Set up the HTTP server"

Unable to configure the HTTP server.
Finished.

------------------------------------------------

"Start batch job to build search indexes"

This task was not run because the prerequisites were not met.

What exactly was active, or unavailable?  In addition, after this
attempt, the Information Center icon disappeared from my desktop.
