A few things could be going on, but in the long run, I prefer to put all "services" that I want to start in the qstartup program - so this service would have the following lines: STRTCPSVR SERVER(*FTP) MONMSG MSGID(CPF0000) DLYJOB DLY(100) the monmsg is just in case it is already running, the dlyjob is something though experience I have learned seems to help; otherwise the next c/l job step happens too quickly, "occasionally" causing errors. This could be a ptf issue, check your OS level and ptf level. hth mark -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:midrange-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of kmskeele@mail.volusia.k12.fl.us Sent: Friday, May 10, 2002 1:44 PM To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: FTP question I am fairly new to AS400 / Iseries.
