Ken, I've run into this problem several times before. You need to run RCLSTG SELECT(*DBXREF) Al Al Barsa, Jr. Barsa Consulting Group, LLC 400>390 914-251-1234 914-251-9406 fax http://www.barsaconsulting.com http://www.taatool.com "Graap, Ken" <keg@nwnatural.com> To: "'Midrange'" <midrange-l@midrange.com> Sent by: cc: midrange-l-admin@mi Subject: Corrupted DB Cross Reference File - QADBFDEP drange.com 05/10/02 12:07 PM Please respond to midrange-l Something strange is going on.... We were running a query over the system "Cross reference dependency file" (QADBFDEP) and discovered that there was several inconsistencies. For example, there were records that listed the "based on physical file" as the library name of one of the "dependent files". The file wasn't "damaged" in the traditional sense, it just contains obviously incorrect data. I know how to use the RCLSTG command to rebuild this reference file, but even after discussing this incident with IBM SupportLine, I'm unable to determine what possible series of events could have led to this file being corrupted. And needless to say, having to run a RCLSTG command in a system that is as close to 7/24 as possible, presents a major scheduling problem. Has anyone else run into problems like this with the system DB cross reference files? I've been a Sys Admin on this platform since 1984 and have never personally seen this.
