Office 2000-microsoft word

I am pulling my hair out and need help-I give up!! I do not have a toolbar on
word...I can not pull up file and can not do the Alt V either.? I cant get
anywhere where I can get any options to do anything. I have a toolbar on
excel if that makes a difference. I uninstalled and reinstalled office and
still no difference. Please let me know if you have any idea...no one here
has a clue.
