Hi, I've been using the AS/400 as an email server for a while now. But, a problem does crop up occasionally. Some emails (apparently) have something in them which "clogs" up the pop server. I start getting errors (in Outlook) saying that the TCP/IP server connection has been terminated by the server. But, there's nothing wrong. The problem can be corrected by going in and deleting some emails from the "mail" folder for the user who's having the problem. When I delete the problem email, the problem goes away and everything's OK. Now, I get close to 100 emails per day myself, so I'm the main "problem child" on this. Even with digest mode on all the Midrange newsgroups. About 90% junk email (I've filtered out most of in Outlook)but still. I've had Supportline get me out of this the first couple of times, but now I just go and delete some email documents from the folder, and everything's fine (except I lose some emails). Supportline tells me to identify the email with the problem and they'll look at it and maybe get a fix. Since an email is all text, I don't understand. This has got to be a bug in the server code somewhere, but I don't have time to fix IBM's problems (unless they'll approve an invoice ;) ). I can't be the only one with this problem, can I? I'm running V4R5 on a T1 connection. Anybody solved this problem? TIA AS/Resources, Inc.
