I've also found that my new ET command is also an acceptable alternative
for ENDPASTHR.  So it doesn't matter if you used STRPASTHR or TELNET, ET
goes home.

Actually I prefer
SIGNOFF ENDCNN(*YES)
Then I did
CRTDUPOBJ OBJ(SIGNOFF) FROMLIB(QSYS) OBJTYPE(*CMD) TOLIB(QSYS) NEWOBJ(ET)
CHGCMDDFT CMD(QSYS/ET) NEWDFT('ENDCNN(*YES)')

Then I remember that ET stands for EndTelnet, or 'ET go home'

If you use TELNET, you disconnect by pressing the ATTN key and taking
option 99..Just ending the job leaves you on the target system.
