Hello Tim (and Rob) Rob wrote: >This is the one we need HELP on. The other ones are blatantly DBU's >responsibility to fix. However this one may explain why DBU took the >'road less travelled'. about Tim's message: >Buffer length longer than record for member "By_Name". This is not a problem. It is a warning message indicating that the amount of record buffer space in the program is longer than the record length of the file. That is how ALL these file update programs work (DBU, WRKDBF, FileScope, etc.). How do I know that? Because I've written these sorts of programs and because the message is CPF4011 which has a severity of 10 meaning "not that important". The real problem is the missing program DBU0091 (or something it needs like a service program). It may be a library list issue. It may be a packaging issue and the authors of DBU forgot to include this program -- perhaps this program is called only when the target fiel has NULL-capable fields so DBU works for most of your files but not this one.
