Chuck,

You will find in the infamous "Memo to Users" a comment about the V3R2
clients not being supported anymore due to some socks support and other
things being removed. The new versions of CAE do not support SNA at all
anymore. The error messages are most likely because the LPP that supports
the old client access is not on your new machine. Can the File
upload/download be changed to FTP? If so, you could run TCP/IP over the
twinaxial cable (I can hear the howls coming from central Michigan as I
write this) and use a 5250 telnet client and FTP to solve your problem
without running new cable.

Another thought is to go with a wireless solution. Depending on how far
away the terminal is from where you actually have Cat5, consider a CISCO
wireless unit. Then you can go TCP/IP quickly without stringing wire. I
would be the cost to be about the same or cheaper than running new wire by
the time you add labor. I've done this at clients and at home with great
success. Even COMMON went wireless last week and plans to continue doing
so from now on.
