re: AFPDS vs IPDS... As far as I remember, AFPDS will do everything that IPDS does, without any special adapter boxes, etc. When it comes to overlays, AFPDS will print your graphical overlay just fine. The AS/400 will build a bit map and send it, page by page, to your AFPDS printer, whether locally attached or remotely on your network. IPDS, on the other hand, lets the AS/400 separate the graphical overlay from the variable text-- and only send the graphics once.
