Yes - this has to be better than not having a stand alone iSeries. Your
PC can be a stand alone system can it not. For basic operations such as
SAVSYS, etc. some form of 5250 is probable.

Ops Nav is here whether we like it or not. It is IBMs stated intention
to put all control via Ops Nav and eventually eliminate the green
screen. What we should concentrate on is "How can we make Ops Nav better
than its is?"

If one is trying sell applications, it would depend on the application.
- but if one is trying to sell a machine, what better than being to
demonstrate the system to client, either on site or otherwise. Potential
customers who use NT are not going be tempted by a box with a flaky
console, that has no natural GUI, is not that intuitive, etc, etc. The
market for iSeries is as a server, IBM want to replace NT server farms
with iSeries systems, but NT users are extremely resistant. They need to
feel comfortable that they are making the right choice.
