There are a number of commands that are used for the library/file system. Earliest form of FTP on 400 had only the lib/file format for ls, etc. Not at all in sync with the rest of the world. It's better, I think, now. Probably other proprietary stuff, too. No harm, I suppose, except bloat, and usually unknown and unused. Checked out the RFC for FTP <http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc0959.txt>. This has the official standard stuff, as you know, I'm sure. RCMD is not part of it, as you say.
