Ensure the file is journalled:
CRTJRNRCV
CRTJRN
STRJRNPF
Start ISQL
STRSQL COMMIT(*CHG)
UPDATE file SET field = value WHERE other-field = other-value
SELECT * FROM file
(Realise you stuffed up)
ROLLBACK
--or--
(Determine the update was correct)
COMMIT
F3 to exit and save SQL session
