For Immediate Release:

In a major change of direction, I have decided to enhance WRKDBF to support
all the major databases of the day. Since DB2/400 obviously doesn't fit in
this category, it has been dropped as a supported database of WRKDBF.

Therefore the next release of WRKDBF (version "V5R-Dream-On") will support
Oracle, Dbase, SQL Server, HTML, XML, Microsoft's ubiquitous .NET, and
Sybase all via the convenience of the IFS and OpsNav. To fully comply with
the requirements of these "popular" databases, connectivity will be
provided for ODBC, RDA, Linux, Unix, Java, Windoze (which will sport a new
"blue screen" for you to enjoy), and Mac.

And in keeping with other popular themes of these platforms, WRKDBF release
"V5R-Dream-On" is being announced today and will be "vaporware" until I can
do the enhancement work, which should be sometime in 2008, at which time
all the databases will have changed and I'll be starting over.

Oh yes, and before I forget - you can kiss the "freeware" concept goodbye
since Microsoft frowns on "free" (and anything other than expensive for
that matter).

Bill

PS: have a great April 1st!
