Just make sure that the passed parms (even if empty) are mentioned in both the caller and the called programs, and it probably would not hurt to initialize them to defaults as well. -----Original Message----- From: Matt Patee [mailto:mpatee@abm.com] Sent: Friday, March 29, 2002 12:27 PM To: midrange-l@midrange.com Cc: Paul Thorne Subject: Error? I have written a couple of stored procedures. The first one sets a date and then passes it (via a call) into a second procedure that issues an SQL statement to extract A/P information and insert it into a table. They are very simple procedures and execute with no errors when running them through client access operations navigator. However, when submitting them through the 'green screen' using the call command, the following errors occur. Message . . . . : Pointer not set for location referenced. Cause . . . . . : A pointer was used, either directly or as a basing pointer, that has not been set to an address. Even though this error occurs, the procedures still work and the output is accurate. Is this an error that I should be concerned about? Has anyone else run into this, and how did you resolve the issue? Thanks in advance for your help. _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
