I think you are correct here -- especially since the QACP296636 is a source
file! I didn't actually look at the file object and got bitten in the arse
by my own assumptions. CPTFRMIMPF creates a number of work objects:
QTEMP/QCPIMTEMPS *USRSPC
QRECOVERY/QACPnnnnnn *FILE
QRECOVERY/FRCPnnnnnn *USRSPC
where nnnnnn is the job number of the job issuing the command. All of
which seem related to the conversion process.

Well, you won't get a PTF if you don't APAR it. You should at least open a
PMR with IBM for this since the behaviour seems so wrong.
