I am putting different sets of speculations in different replies. This is purely the technical notion of how many sessions one user could have on twinax connections. > Before when they were all wired with Twinax and > at most terminals that could pull 4 sessions When wired with Twinax, but using a PC, the ceiling on sessions at same terminal was the number of sessions available on one twinax line or controller (8 on S/36 numbered 0 to 7, doubled on 400), doubled again by using alternate session (upper shift system request & enter, then select another sign on), so I think the ceiling was 32, but each of the sessions, for some types of software, needed to have different work station identities.
