Rob, If you need a fast, SQL based solution, would a UDF or stored procedure work? The QDBRTVFD API is pretty quick but it is more complex than it should be. I do have an example of that API if you are interested, I could check it in to the iSeries-toolkit Web site at www.iseries-toolkit.org. There are already examples of the List Object, Retrieve Object Description APIs, and SQL UDFs. The List Object API support is only in CVS at this point and not part of the 1.5 download package.
