Sorry for missing the previous part of the thread. There must be something that can be done to fix this. I jsut don't know now. You should not have to IPL the system jsut to get the console back, as a matter of fact you seldom have to IPL to "clear up" problems. Now that it works maybe you can dive into the "virtual control panel" http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/clientaccess/qnaopcons.htm V5R1 Operations Console users may wish to consider Virtual Control Panel to get Remote Control Panel functions without the need for a direct parallel cable connection. Information on configuring Virtual Control Panel is available: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/as400/products/clientaccess/win32/v5r1m0/files/presentations/installing_vcp.pdf ------------------------- Bryan Dietz 3X Corporation "Leif Svalgaard" <leif@leif.org> Sent by: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com 03/14/2002 12:44 AM Please respond to midrange-l To: <midrange-l@midrange.com> cc: Subject: Re: 504 From: Steve Richter <srichter@autocoder.com> > I think you have to reboot the 400. Thanks Bryan and Steve. I did an IPL and the console came up. Lesson that I learned: If you remove the console cable and plug it back in you must IPL. This is terrible. _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
