-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] :) That much I had assumed, without really knowing if I was right or not, but :thanks for giving me proof. Is there anyway to; #1 find which PC is giving me :the message, #2 stop the message from happening? The problem is that, again I :am new at this and not sure, but I think we are all TCP/IP no TRN. Another message I get on the same line is CPF8B19; Message . . . . : Token-ring error logging level on line TRNLINE not changed. Cause . . . . . : A request to change the level of logging token-ring errors to level OFF failed for line TRNLINE. Recovery . . . : Try the Change Line Description (Token-Ring Network) command (CHGLINTRN) again to change the error logging level. Technical description . . . . . . . . : The token-ring error monitor has not accepted the token-ring error logging change request. The token-ring network manager is informed by a ring error monitor (REM) error report. When I do a CHGLINTRN I find that the logging level (TRNLOGLVL) is already set to *OFF. These messages are filling up the QSYSOPR message queue and making it difficult to work with other messages. Again thanks for the help. The first message is CPF8B41, and the message text is as follows; Message . . . . : Adapter has inserted or left the ring on line TRNLINE. Cause . . . . . : An adapter has inserted or left the ring on line TRNLINE. The reporting adapter is 0050DA738141 and the nearest active upstream neighbor (NAUN) of the reporting adapter is 0050DA215C3C. Technical description . . . . . . . . : Any adapter that inserts into or removes itself from the ring causes a nearest active upstream neighbor (NAUN) change report to be sent on the ring. These reports are sent as medium access control (MAC) frames which are monitored by the configuration report server that in turn reports them to the TRLAN manager. The NAUN change reports are logged to the system history log (QHST) by the TRLAN manager. Any ideas what this message means? _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!?
