We use those switches and have the 2838 adapters. The lines are set for auto speed and auto duplex. We have no problems. Our switches are set to auto as well. I would check your cable run. Perhaps run a long patch directly from your AS400 into your switch, if possible, for testing. Our line is also configured to be on-line at IPL. Good Luck and contact me off line if you would like. Sometimes, when the ethernet line is varied on after an IPL, it comes online but no cummunication is possible. FYI : we have tried all the combinations of speed/duplex auto-negociated or not. -- Cordialement/Best regards Marc Rauzier Opinions I stated here are my own. _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
