CPF0887 - Data available from previous input request

Anyone seen this message before?

We have a CL with a DCLF for a display file.  Within the CL, we issue
several SNDRCVF commands for different records.  Also within the CL, we call
an RPG program that uses the same display file but with different display
records.

Now, suddenly and out of the blue, we're getting this halt.  We can get by
this by taking an 'R' to retry, but why in the heck are we getting it?

Any help will be appreciated.
