Jim, most of the functionality of ZIP is also contained in the Java utility
called "jar" (short for Java ARchive).  The good news is that the jar
utility is a free, supported part of OS/400.  I'm not sure which product you
have to install, the JVM or QShell, but in any event, it's free and it works
great.  JAR will even unzip files that you've Zipped with something like
WinZip; I use it to unpack software that I distribute.
