I guess this is bad news for all the installed base of OS/400 and MVS and AIX users worldwide..... I guess they will all just have to convert to Linux or else they won't be able to start their new "grid" project. Don't you ever wonder where they go to class to learn some of this nonsense ? Can it be that "Grid" is the new buzz word of the week. The customer remains firmly in control of what IBM does, not what the exec of the month dreams up. By the way, this "open system" thing seems to come up about every five years or so, depending on who's doing the talking. I recall this very same conversation around late 1987. Let's see..."We will stop selling this "cheap" software to our customers and "give" them this free version and hope we make money doing that."
