But because the original poster stated that the hostname is being changed, then every client must also be updated anyway to request the IP address of the new hostname, regardless of DNS. Unless, of course, the original hostname is maintained in the DNS as an alias or each client retrieves its connection configuration from a shared source rather than local to the PC.
