Not that this would be a first choice (due to pricing) but we did have many customer get at least their first supply of tapes here. Had a customer call them last Friday for some tapes (after all, all the IBM tapes - and even the QIC cleaning cartridge shipped with their new model 270 they received 2 weeks ago has the 888-IBM-MEDIA number clearly listed for re-ordering), and they were told they don't sell to end users. FYI - part of a reply from someone at IBM who I asked to find out what was happening: Neil, I got a message back from a frustrated Tape Support person in Rochester who indicated that IBM has decided that they no longer are going to sell direct these tape supplies. Therefore, at the IBM-Media number, they will only provide references to where you can get the cartridges. This has/is causing the problems you are seeing and apologies were expressed. I was left with 3 choices that you could try: 1. Corporate Express - 1-800-828-9949 2. Media Recovery Services - 1-800-527-9497 3. Boise Cascade - 1-800-525-9500 ........ (may require an account having been opened with them. Wasn't sure.) If all those are dead ends, then you/your Customer should call the 888-IBM-Media number and tell them the problem and complain about this inability to get supplies and the unproductive work involved here. Hopefully one of the 3 choices above is able to help. ...Neil
