Don't do it! DON'T DO IT!!! These types of deals usually involve only the operating system. All the goodies - rpg, query, sql, etc, are all extra. On a P05 box, each language is $1200, as is Query, SQL, PDM, etc. It adds up quick. You'll probably need a software subscription ($600/yr) to keep get the OS up to v5r1. And, don't plan on running websphere on that mini machine. It takes at least a 170-2291 with about a GIG of memory. Yikes. The 150 is an odd machine. Not worth the money. Maybe there are other deals out there, but even if the box is cheap, the software cost will kill you. You're better off considering one of the timesharing services out there like timeshare400.com or netshare400.com. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Go... FASTER! Without an upgrade! What would the additional costs involved be to set it up (assuming it is a usable system as is)? In the hundreds or more? _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
