Rob,

Not sure if this will always work in RPG
RPG input specs (explicit or implicit) are really "moves from the i/o
buffer" to pgm work areas
You do not address the i/o buffers directly
RPG does not guarantee input fields are mapped into program work areas in
the same order on the file or necessarily contiguously on same byte
boundaries as the actual record buffer

>>>CREATE TABLE ROB/ARRAYFILE (KEYFLD CHAR (10 ) NOT NULL WITH
DEFAULT, ARY1 DEC (5 , 0) NOT NULL WITH DEFAULT, ARY2 DEC (5 , 0)
NOT NULL WITH DEFAULT, ARY3 DEC (5 , 0) NOT NULL WITH DEFAULT)
Table ARRAYFILE in ROB created but could not be journaled.
INSERT INTO ROB/ARRAYFILE VALUES('A', 1, 2, 3)
1 rows inserted in ARRAYFILE in ROB.

     fARRAYFILE IF E K DISK RENAME(ARRAYFILE:ARRAYREC)
     f INFDS(HIYA)
     d MyArray s like(ary1) dim(3)
     d based(pMyArray)
 <<< d pMyArray s * inz(%addr(ary1))
