I have never seen anything bigger than 512, but with the size of the system
page now being 4096, I would bet it would happen.

Mike,

You and Al are probably both right.  Which brings up the question  "What is
the difference between size and saved size?"  Is saved size some attempt to
estimate how much tape media it will take versus how much data it takes up
on disk?

And does ODBPUN ever differ from 512?  Or was this some attempt to retain
10 digit fields by forcing a multiplication to get results?

Not according to my version of QADSPOBJ. The fields are ODSIZU and ODBPUN
as I
posted in my original answer, certainly up to and including V4R4.
