Duh,
Is a good description Rob. What is it that you are attempting to
verify ???
Carrier on the ISP to You Leg of a circuit ?
Good MX records in a DNS server somewhere ?
That the Frewall port is open and available ?
That the network route tables are intact and active ?
That the iSeries is powered up and operating ?
That Domino is handling SMTP messages ?
That the Network support people came to work on New Years Day ??
Ect...............................
The simple answer is maybe a RPG or C program that opens a
connection to your ISPs relay mail handler and verifies that it get's the
proper response.. "220 mail.x.y.net ESMTP ..................."
