We don't call them dumb terminals anymore. The correct phrase is 'cpu challenged'. By the way, the VT100 emulation from an AS/400 telnet session to a PC (oir anywhere else) is nothing pretty, either. Our software company is finishing up a telnet server for 3270 and 5250 telnet in what I think of as page mode (versus conversational mode for VT100 etc.) We are using it in our archiving product. We already have a 5250 client written in RPG (I think) that talks to the PC server thru TCP/IP. We wrote that because some customers want to do command line parameters (look in the invoice reports and find invoice = 524561, for example). If anyone knows how to pass command lines thru tn5250 (AS/400) or tn3270 apps, please clue me in. -- Brad Jensen brad@elstore.com President Electronic Storage Corporation Tulsa OK USA 918-664-7276 LaserVault Report Retrieval & Data Mining www.Laservault.com www.eufrates.com - Add distance learning to your site with easy course preparation
