From the DB2 for AS/400 SQL Call Level Interface (ODBC) V4R3 manual introduction: "DB2 CLI also provides full Level 1 Microsoft** Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) support, plus many Level 2 functions. ODBC is based on the emerging X/Open** and SQL Access Group Call Level Interface specification." Getting it to work between AS/400s is relatively easy. Getting it to work to SQL Server takes a bit more effort.
