Good News Everybody!

A new search engine is coming soon.

As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I'd scope out the competition on the translation server. One of the main
ones would be IBM. IIRC it's tied into Websphere as an add-on, but they
could probably unbundle it as a standalone without too much trouble, and may
already offer it... (Don't want to rain on the parade, but they got a
head-start on ya...)

| If we could make a translation server (running on a PC with one of
| the mechanical translation programs) and serve it up to the AS/400
| thru TCP/IP and a callable object (or on a web server as an ASP
| object) would this be of any use to anybody? I think it handles
| English to and from Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, and
| German. We might also be able to do Russian.
|
| I'm in love with the idea, but I don't know if it is of any
| practical use to anyone.
|
| Or how about a USA phonebook server, same functionality. We use
| this sort of thing to look up phone numbers of incoming calls on
| caller id and create default fields for data entry.
