My GUESS is based upon the fact that the company with the AS/400 was
bought out by a bigger company, who are based around Unix.
I think we're winning because they are spotting the strengths of the
AS/400 for the business in question. I have also given my friend a few
pointers on how he might consider sharing data between the systems using
something like access (I know, I know...) as a go between. I don't know,
and suspect I will never find out, what is running on the Unix boxes.

It would be interesting to find out what made the proverbial "THEM" want
to go from the AS/400 to UNIX in the 1st place, and what could be making
"THEM" change their minds.

Bit of a naive question this, but where does the mythical QSHELL thingy on
the AS/400 fit in to the great 'does the AS/400 run unix apps?' situation?
(By the way, people, last I heard we could be winning this one!!)
