I don't believe there is by default. Of course if you are collecting disk usage information then that data is in the disk info file (really just a DSPOBJD *ALL/*ALL to an outfile plus a couple of things). If you don't have that file this might be a great time to look into UDFs in SQL. You could create a UDF that took an object name and library as parameters and returned the object description. You're SQL would then be Select lib, file, getdesc(lib, file) from outfile -Walden ------------ Walden H Leverich III President Tech Software (516)627-3800 x11 WaldenL@TechSoftInc.com http://www.TechSoftInc.com -----Original Message----- From: Peter_Vidal@pall.com [mailto:Peter_Vidal@pall.com] Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2001 9:42 AM To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: AS400 "Object Xref" File? Hello everyone! I know that file QADBXREF (AS400 Cross Reference Physical File) gives you a trace for every single file on the AS400. Is there an equivalent file that deals with the rest of the objects? I have a workfile with the results of a DSPPGMREF command and I want to use a query to display the description of all the objects used on that program in one shot. Thanks is advance!
