Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a list of iSeries supported printers. By
supported I mean they have hex data available for customisation objects.
The story is........

Had a user who brought in their own little Epson Inkjet, plugged into their
PC locally, and wants to be able to print from our AS/400s. We generally
use Client Access AFP Viewer, but I can't work out how to get it to print
more than 132 characters wide (the spool file required is 198). So, we
thought, ah ha ! we'll use a Client Access print emulation session with a
workstation customisation object. Prints the whole spool file but in
portrait, not landscape. No problem, we thought, we'll just edit the
customisation object. After much searching through the Epson Esc P2
programming manual, we discovered there is no hex data for
portrait/landscape for this particular model.

The user in question is now asking for a list of "AS/400 supported
printers", given that his Inkjet seems not to be fully supported (ie, no
hex codes for things like landscape/portrait). It's my understanding that
this sort of information would be provided by individual printer vendors,
but I was just wondering if anyone is aware of an IBM supplied list for all
models?

Also, if anyone has any other suggestions for printing a 198 character wide
report in landscape to a locally attached Epson Inkjet, I'm only to happy
to hear them.

Thanks in advance
