I get a file on the PC, transfer it to the QDLS created a PF with RCDLEN(32766) and so on to copy this pcd file to a member. So far so good. I then try to CRTOVL and all I get is CPD88C0, telling me my data is not being translated to an AFPDS resource because its format is unknown, there is an enhanced error code of '5A0010 D3A8C6'. I searched the IBM Knowledge Base on this and found that all MODCA resources (internal AFPDS structures) begib with '5A0010' and have tags like 'D3A85F' or 'D3A8C7' or so, but my combination is not in the list. So how is this meant to work ? I followed exactly to the word the guidelines from IBM of how to do this and - nothing ! I tried differnet AFP drivers, generic AFP 240 , generic AFP 300, AFP 3812, NJET, nada, nothing: all of them produce the code D3A8C6, which cannot be interpreted by my OS/400 PSF translator. Any help appreciated. Regards from germany, Philipp Rusch --__--__-- Message: 3 Subject: Re: Oh where has my disk space gone? Applying PTFs perm, whether the MF or the SF/SI ones does clean up some space. However, be aware that if you ever need to remove a PTF, it's almost impossible when they're applied perm. If you want to remove a PTF, you've got to be able to revert to the previous level of the modules, so a backup has to be on disk. It's these "backups" that are eliminated when a PTF is applied perm and this is the space you regain. He ended up taking IBM's advice to disconnect the 3590E tape drive. Only then could he proceed. A percent sign (%) indicates a device that can be used as an alternate IPL device, regardless of whether it actually has. You'll need to use option 9 to drill down to the device level. Press F1 and scroll down to the Special Indicators section to see the meanings of the different codes that can be displayed. Ken Southern Wine and Spirits of Nevada, Inc.
