Spool takes space. You might want to check your output queues for hugh worthless prints. Also, check system value QRCLSPLSTG and keep it as low as you can. This will help to cleanup the space of printed/deleted spool. My personal experience with RCLSTG has been that if you suffer power failures (no UPS) or system crashes you should probably run it. However, if you don't then you may not pick up much space.
