Rochester are CONSTANTLY behind on updating the allowed VOLTYPE's to cover newer tape drives (usually with new QIC types). There may be a PTF to cover the 3570 for whatever release and whatever PTF cum level (you don't say) you are on. If not, use a similar type of tape device. If you run STRSST 1, 1, 4 you will see the major device categories: 1=Reel tape 2=Self-configured tape device and 1/4 inch cartridge tape 3=1/2 inch cartridge tape 4=8-mm cartridge tape 5=5-1/4 inch diskette 6=8-inch diskette 7=Optical Choose another similar device. Maybe 3490 would work. ...Neil "Dave Snyder" <dsnyder@blcnet.com> Sent by: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com 2001/11/14 09:29 Please respond to midrange-l To: midrange-l@midrange.com cc: Subject: PRTERRLOG I am using the following command to display tape error information: PRTERRLOG TYPE(*VOLSTAT) VOLTYPE(3570) It is not showing any of the tapes that I am using.
