Chris, What WRKDBF does (and what you can do in your app.) is to check for character values less than hex'40'. These tend to conflict with screen attributes and frequently crash the display. If a character is is found that is less than hex'40', WRKDBF writes out a "box" character to the display instead. I don't have WRKDBF source available to me right this minute so I can't tell you what the hex value is for the "box". But I'll check it tonight and let you know tomorrow. Negative response code is 10050111. I have fields which contain characters that are not displayable - How can I avoid this error ? - Is there some keyword I can code into the screen DDS to allow these characters to be displayed (the same data file containing these characters does not crash when accessed via WRKDBF) _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. -- NOTICE: The information contained in this electronic mail transmission is intended by Convergys Corporation for the use of the named individual or entity to which it is directed and may contain information that is privileged or otherwise confidential.
