Tom: Excellent point. The pricing model is VERY capitalistic. The difference is that we have choices in the market place. One vendor has a pricing model based on tiers, another on user. The market will dictate if the model works. My comments regarding socialism reflect my attitude more towards things we have little choice about, taxes. Try letting the "market" decide if the tax model is correct or fair and you get a one way trip to the pokey. People will only pay for something based on their perception of it's value. That is capitalism at it's best, but to charge more in a monopolist situation (as in David's example of the drug company w/a patent),that is not capitalism. There is NO other market. cjg Carl J. I'm not arguing for nor against tiered pricing in the iSeries marketplace, but it seems to me to be a _very_ capitalistic pricing model.
