It depends (don't you hate that answer?).  Which is more important,
faster backups or faster recoveries.   You make the call.

Personally, I would opt for faster recovery and spend the extra time
it takes to do the access path backups.  If your backup window allows
you to, you should do the same.

Actually, your application files (and their associated access paths)
change everyday.  Every time someone Adds a record, deletes a record,
or updates a key field in an access path, that access path changes- so
there is value in backing up the access paths every night.
