Gökhan YILDIRIM wrote <I want to learn how can i manage to Print AS/400 Spool to Host Printer. (S/390).> It depends on whether you use TCP or SNA, and, whether you want to print direct to host printer or to host spooling subsystem. TCP will be by far your easiest and cheapest option A. TCP i) Direct to host printer via LPR(400) / LPD(Printer or printer blackbox) Use remote output queues just like you do for as400 ip lan printers Printer must have a lan port or be attached to a lan printer blackbox Printer can be shared by 400 and host (and others) ii) Direct to host printer using as400 lan printer device description Printer must support PJL (most HP, IBM and others) Printer must have a lan port or be attached to a lan printer blackbox Printer can be shared by 400 and host (and others) iii) Direct to host printer using as400 lan printer device description (new V5R1 option) Requires new printer driver support in V5R1 - uses a different ip port. Not up on details but check IBM web site Printer must have a lan port ( not sure if supported by lan printer blackboxs) Printer can be shared by 400 and host (and others) iv) Direct to host spooling subsystem via LPR(400) / LPD (on Host system) Use remote output queue support. Spool file sent to host spool output queue B. SNA - My memory is stretched here so i'll generalise i) Direct to host via SNADS - see SNDNETSPLF (essentially user to user's otput queue) ii) Direct to host spooling subsystem via as400 remote output queues (see CNNTYPE and DSTTYPE) Can't remember SNA protocol but look in as400 manuals iii) Direct to host SNA printer using reverse "3270" passthru can't remember details, but it had some operational limitations Printer is then shared by host and as400 There is probably some other methods, but that should be something to think about _______________________________________________________________ Regards, Rod Orr
