Well Mike,

I don't believe Halon is not an option today in a new room as
last I knew
It was being phased out by the EPA as harmful to our ozone, as a result of
this to
refill a system is also very expensive !! BUT, warning if you have one,
Freon dumping
from a raised floor air system will trigger a Halon detector on a properly
installed system..

Options, WATER is one, a good coverage sprinkler system,
connected with a
Emergency Power Off (EPO) relay to prevent shorts is very effective.
Another
I have read about is a CO2 dump, works the same as Halon in that it smothers
the fire..

Check with the engineering firm responsible for the facility for
what the local
building codes will permit, also check with the fire department, depending
on the size of the
municipality you live in their inspection officers should have some
guidance. Lastly, you can check
the National Fire Protection web site at www.nfpa.org for the standard on
Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems (NFPA-2001) and the Standard on Halon
1301 Fire Extinguishing Systems (NFPA-12a)..

            Good Luck,
            JMS...
