Just a quick addendum: the primary design goal of revitalization is not to remove the interactive tax. Its primary goal is to make your existing legacy systems UI independent, allowing them to work with browsers or thick clients or XML or whatever UI you choose. The idea is to get to a GUI interface quickly, while still being able to leverage what is probably your single biggest asset: your existing legacy programmers. You don't have to learn all about HTML or Java in order to use the revitalization techniques, especially if you use a tool like PSC400.
