The TN5250 sessions on the AS/400 are assigned QPADEVxxxx device names automatically. But you are able to configure a static name if you choose to. These statically named device descriptions are auto-configured. While they are not in-use, it appears that these 'static devices' can be assigned to other TN5250 sessions when QPADEVxxxx is expected. There are two problems.... One is that these static device names have been configured to use specific printers and the dynamically named workstation has no logic association with the printer. The other problem is that the workstation to which the device name belongs is unable to acquire a session. Anyone have any experience with this problem using a combination of CA/400 or Mocha TN5250 sessions? Ken Slaugh (707) 795-1512 x118 Chouinard & Myhre, Inc.
