Message re-sent - Can anyone help?

Hi all!

I have a situation where I wanted to get some default values from a
configuration data area and have them appear as the defaults for parms on a
command prompt that is used on a menu option to start an interface system.
The IBM manual shows that it can be done using a prompt override program. I
followed the example and got the values to display on the prompt for the
parms, but if I just press ENTER (without keying anything into the parm
fields) nothing gets passed to the CPP.

I'm using the ?< selective prompting character, which according to the
manual says "the parameter is displayed and is input-capable, but the
command default is sent to the CPP unless the value displayed on the
parameter is changed."

Has anyone done this before, and am I missing something?

TIA.
