Wow, that's a bit of overkill... How about:
QSH CMD('cat file2 >> file1')
I missed which file was which as the discussion abstracted, but I'm assuming
file1 existed, file2 is what you are adding (appending) and you had it in a
temporary location. Of course, you'll still need to delete file2 at some
point.
