-- Hi, On this Saturday when I'm trying to get ready for COMMON. AS/400 feature codes are an IBM state secret. In truth, they screwed up the system value QPRCFEAT, because they knew that multiple interactive features were coming. (The fact of the matter is that I had asked for this system value, but they didn't fully square with me on the truth.) I would have made it a system value retrievable in multiple lengths (like QTIME). The following table appears in my COMMON Session, "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About System Values (but were afraid to ask)". To my knowledge, it is the only place where this information can be obtained easily in one place. I tried to "cut and paste it in", but the formatting in M$Word would not allow it, so I created a .PDF which I zipped. (See attached file: Qprcfeat for midrange-l.zip) To make matters worse, I expect that multiple levels of data base capability will be offered in a future release. (I have no advanced knowledge of this that I have not derived by myself.) In V5R1, take a look at assistance level 3 in WRK/DSPSYSSTS: Display System Status BARSA 10/24/01 13:20:33 % CPU used . . . . . . . : 32.5 Auxiliary storage: % DB capability . . . . : .0 System ASP . . . . . . : 36.50 G Elapsed time . . . . . . : 00:11:02 % system ASP used . . : 50.1795 Jobs in system . . . . . : 3348 Total . . . . . . . . : 49.31 G % perm addresses . . . . : .009 Current unprotect used : 710 M % temp addresses . . . . : .009 Maximum unprotect . . : 719 M System Pool Reserved Max -----DB----- ---Non-DB--- Pool Size (M) Size (M) Active Fault Pages Fault Pages 1 60.26 34.69 +++++ .0 .0 .0 .0 2 163.88 .08 51 .0 .0 .0 .0 3 2.55 .00 5 .0 .0 .0 .0 4 29.28 .00 10 .0 .0 4.4 4.4 Bottom Press Enter to continue. Does anybody know how the original processor number and interactive feature code map into the code shown by SST. Evidently 2065-1506 -> 2A6A, but what about the rest? is there an algorithm for the mapping? _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. -- [ Qprcfeat for midrange-l.zip of type application/zip deleted ] --
