Great to "talk to" you.  I guess I didn't make it clear that I was using
NetManage's View Now software to do the transfer.  At this installation,
much to my chagrin, FTP is not an option.  Grrr.     :~|

Anyway, I found that if I let NetManage create the file rather than
creating it beforehand via CRTPF, the transfer works correctly.

Don't you just love reliable software?

Hello Dennis,

I suspect the PC version of the file has trailing blanks which are being
trimmed.  You can tell the HOST to keep the blanks by setting TRIM to 0.

>From the PC FTP session type:

     quote site trim 0

or possibly just

     site trim 0

You can also force record transfer mode by specifiying

     quote struct r

The exact combination of 'quote' and 'site' seems to depend on your FTP
client.
