Pat, This is all very new to us and we never thought that "printing" on the AS/400 was so complicated. We take so much for granted living in the twinax world. We did get a response from Scott Klement that did solve our current problem although we haven't been able to determine why the overlay worked on one printer and not the other. Scott had us uncheck the "substitute fonts" box on the printer properties of the AFP driver and recreate the overlay. That solved our problem but again we would like to find out why the other printer worked with the substitute fonts boxed checked off. Techies are such a curious lot. Thanks for your input and we will post more info on this if and when we figure out what the differences are between the 2 printers. What does a printer with IPDS feature code do with a printer stream that is NOT IPDS ??? I have to admit I have never seen that tried.... IPDS is "normally" a twinax feature code, so what does the instruction manual say about using the IPDS functions on a ethernet adapter ?? How much memory can you add to that printer ???
